Early September. The summer mood is still in the air. Venice without the crowds of international tourists is even more beautiful and intimate, a feature that is one of the few positive things that Covid has brought. Steve is German, with Egyptian blood on his father’s side – you’ll see the golden pyramid shaped wedding cake! – and Daria is Polish. A nice cultural mix for a traditional wedding, with a religious ceremony, but at the same time very elegant black tie wedding. The preparations of the bride and groom took place in the Nicolaj & C. building.
The religious wedding ceremony in German was held in the magnificent church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, where the bride arrived directly by gondola like in the classic tradition. The bride and groom wanted to dedicate a lot of time to couple shots which were very important for them, taking a wooden venetian boat and stopping in the most suggestive places in Venice for couple photos and filming. San Marco Square, the Island of San Giorgio with its cathedral, the Grand Canal and the Rialto bridge as well as a short break at the famous Hotel Danieli. We reached Palazzo Zanobio at sunset, where the reception was.
The elegant dinner was expertly set up by Angel Lion‘s wedding planner Amber Mollison with whom I have had the pleasure of working several times. The cutting of the cake with Egyptian dances, the party, the group dances, the open bar. A beautiful party on the Grand Canal.
There is not much to add, a wedding in Venice is always a dream that come true and always offers creative points of view to a destination wedding videographer. I continue to love my work as a wedding videography vendor and I continue to love the style of Dolcevita Wedding Cinema. However I felt that there was a need for small but important stylistic changes for 2021 but especially for 2022. The aspect ratio has been enlarged to 2.35: 1 (please don’t ask me for 16: 9 because I make films and not YouTube video tutorials! 🙂 ) and the color grading has been revised, while maintaining the beautiful cinematic tones. And finally, 4K will arrive in 2022!
